Privacy Policy
Last updated September 4, 2026
This policy describes what MatchDoku collects when you play, how that data is used, and the choices you have. The game is operated as a small independent project.
What we collect
- Account data. If you sign in, we store the email address you submit and a display name derived from it. We send a one-time sign-in code to that email. We do not store a password.
- Gameplay data. Scores, times, mistakes, hints, difficulty, mode, daily puzzle date, streaks, achievements, and in-progress boards so you can continue a run.
- Guest play. If you play without signing in, we store an opaque guest id in your browser and attach progress to it. Signing in can merge that guest progress into your account.
- Preferences. Theme, sound, and session token are stored in your browser (localStorage). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
We use this data to run the game: authenticate you, keep leaderboards, restore unfinished puzzles, remember settings, and send the sign-in code. Leaderboards show your display name and run stats, not your email.
Who we share with
Email delivery uses our email provider to send sign-in codes. Hosting and database providers store the application and its data. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Account and score data stay until you ask us to delete them or the service is shut down. Guest progress lives in our database while the guest id is used, and in your browser until you clear site data.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the local session, theme, and guest id. To correct or delete account data, contact us using the email address on your account.
Children
MatchDoku is a general-audience puzzle game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the game changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
